What does CliffsMe actually read?
Only what you connect, and only read-only. For email that’s the sender, subject and preview of the last two days; for Slack, messages in channels you’re already in plus your DMs and mentions; for calendars, events from yesterday to two days ahead. Each source shows exactly what it can see before you connect it.
Can CliffsMe send messages or post for me?
No. CliffsMe never sends, posts, replies or deletes anything. Email, calendars, Slack and TikTok are connected with read-only access. Instagram and Facebook Page messages only come with a permission that also covers replying, because Meta offers no read-only version, and CliffsMe only ever uses it to read. Every story has a button that opens the original, so you reply in the app it came from.
Why can’t it read my friends’ Facebook feed or my personal WhatsApp?
Because those platforms don’t allow any app to. Meta closed access to the personal News Feed in 2018, Instagram only shares Professional accounts’ own posts and messages, and WhatsApp has no API for personal accounts. We’d rather tell you that than scrape. For WhatsApp you can forward messages to CliffsMe’s WhatsApp number or import a chat export.
Who writes the summaries?
Your edition is written by Claude, Anthropic’s AI model, from the items CliffsMe collected. It runs on Google Cloud, your data isn’t used to train any model, and source content is treated strictly as data: CliffsMe ignores instructions hidden inside emails or messages.
How long do you keep my data?
Raw items are deleted automatically after 30 days by default. You can choose 7, 14, 30 or 90 days. Disconnecting a source deletes everything from it immediately. Deleting your account deletes everything, full stop.
Is there an app?
CliffsMe works beautifully in your phone’s browser today, and you can add it to your home screen. Native iOS and Android apps are in development for founding members first.
